GoHighLevel Workflow Not Triggering After Form Submission?

The form may be collecting leads correctly while the automation never starts. Start by checking which form system and trigger type you're actually using.

Diagnose the problem

  1. Identify the form source. Check whether the submission came from a native HighLevel form, AI Studio form, Google Form or another integration. They do not all use the same trigger.
  2. Match the exact trigger. For native forms, review the Form Submitted trigger and its selected form. For AI Studio forms, use its dedicated trigger and confirm CRM tracking is connected.
  3. Confirm published status. Verify the workflow is published in the intended sub-account and no configuration errors are blocking it.
  4. Inspect form filters. A trigger filtered to a different form, project or page will ignore the test submission. Compare actual submission details with configured filters.
  5. Allow for integration-specific delays. HighLevel documents an approximately five-minute polling interval for its Google Forms New or Updated Response trigger. Do not mistake that for instant delivery.
  6. Check enrollment and execution. Submit a fresh test entry and review execution logs. If the contact enrolled but the email did not send, diagnose the action rather than the trigger.

Common questions

Does every form submission use the same trigger?

No. Native HighLevel, AI Studio and connected Google Forms have distinct integration and trigger requirements.

What if the contact appears in the CRM but no workflow starts?

That shows the contact data arrived, not necessarily that the configured workflow trigger matched. Check the exact event and filters.
